Berlin, June 4 (IANS) A 29-year-old Canadian gay porn actor, who has long been pursued by the Interpol for murdering a Chinese student and dismembering the corpse, was Monday arrested in Berlin, police said.

Luka Rocco Magnotta murdered the student in Montreal May 25 with an ice pick-axe and cruelly dismembered the corpse. He filmed his act and put the video on internet, Xinhua reported.

Magnotta was arrested in an internet cafe in the working class district of Neukoelln.

Police identified the victim as 33-year-old Chinese student Jun Lin, who they said had dated Magnotta and had a sexual relationship with him.

The video posted online shows a man stabbing another man with an ice pick-axe while the victim lies naked and tied up. The first man later reveals he has slashed the other man’s throat and goes on to dismember the corpse and perform sexual acts with it.

Interpol had notified authorities in 190 countries to be on the lookout for Magnotta, the Daily Mail reported.

He also faces charges of threatening Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper after mailing a severed foot to his Conservative party headquarters.

A hand in a parcel addressed to the Liberal party of Canada was found at the prime minister’s office last week, while a torso was discovered in a suitcase at a rubbish dump in Montreal.

Magnotta, known also under the names “Eric Clinton Newman” and “Vladimir Romanov”, worked as a porn actor and also as a rentboy.

He faces charges of murder, defiling a corpse, threatening the Canadian prime minister and using the mail system for delivering obscene, indecent and immoral material.

Lin was a Concordia University student from the central Chinese city of Wuhan, according to the Chinese consulate in Montreal.

Police believe he was killed and his body dismembered either May 24 or 25.
