Canada’s Ahmadiyya Muslims condemn attacks in Mumbai
November 29th, 2008 - 11:55 am ICT by IANSToronto, Nov 29 (IANS) The Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Canada has condemned the “heinous and cowardly acts of terrorism” in Mumbai, which left at least 148 people dead and over 327 injured.The attacks against India go against the teachings of Islam, community leaders said in a statement.
“There can be no justification for the taking of innocent lives and the infliction of violence and terror upon (defenceless) civilians, no matter what the pretext,” said Lal Khan Malik, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Canada.
“On behalf of the members of Canada’s Ahmadiyya Muslim community, we express our deepest and heartfelt condolences to all affected by this horrible act and we pray that God blesses the victims,” he added.
Citing Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community worldwide, he said their sect believed in the motto: “Love for all, hatred for none.”
