London, Dec 22 (ANI): Camilla Parker-Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, wanted to shun the British Royal Family’s Christmas celebration because she is “not being shown enough respect”.

The duchess, who is married to Britain’s Prince Charles, is said to be furious with how she is treated by some of the junior members of the royal family during the annual festivities at Queen Elizabeth’s royal Norfolk estate, Sandringham, and would prefer to give it a miss.

“Camilla feels some of the junior royals and members of the queen’s household look down their noses at her. If that’s the way they feel about her she would rather be with her own family anyway, the Daily Express quoted a source, as saying.

Camilla, who became a grandmother when her son Tom Parker Bowles and his wife Sara had their first child Lola in October, is also upset she cannot see her granddaughter on the special day.

Sources say that she getting increasingly frustrated with all the sacrifices she is expected to make now she is a royal.

“Charles has always been a selfish, self-centred quirky individual and he is continuing with his life in much the way he did as a young man, the source said.

“Camilla is the one who makes all the sacrifices. She never wakes up with her real family on Christmas day any more. Even friends have fallen away because it’s just so difficult to stay close to a member of the royal family, the source added.

Camilla has long been accused of being the laziest royal and has become incredibly tense, according to insiders, when she is on official visits with her husband.

Shes very natural when shes on visits on her own. But he makes her a bag of nerves and the people around the Queen and the Duke are even worse, said one family friend. (ANI)
