London, Sep 27(ANI): A recent poll has suggested that British voters think Tory leader David Cameron would make a better Prime Minister than Gordon Brown.
According to the ICM survey for the News of the World, some 43 per cent voters said that Cameron was the best choice, while just 20 per cent believe that Brown is the best man for the job out of the current three main party leaders.
The survey also found that some 14 per cent voters preferred the Liberal Democrats’ leader Nick Clegg and another 16 per cent thought that none of the three where good for the job, The Daily Star reports.
The poll also found that a quarter of Labour voters also backed Cameron, demonstrating the scale of the challenge that Prime Minister Brown faces ahead of his party’s annual conference.
The poll also suggested that Labour goes into its last annual rally before the next election trailing the Tories by 14 points, as the Tory support was put at 40 per cent and Labour’s at 26 per cent. The poll also suggested that around 69 per cent voters would not change their vote for the Labour, if Brown was replaced as the leader. While, another 16 per cent indicated that a change of leader might not significantly improve the party’s position.
