London, Apr 12 (ANI): British Prime Minister David Cameron has expressed disappointment ovet Oxford University’s decision to accept only one black student in 2009.
Academics rubbished his claims saying Cameron, an Oxford graduate, has got his facts wrong as a total of 27 black British students were registered at the university that year, The Sun reports.
“The figure quoted is incorrect. Oxford is fully committed to admitting the most able students regardless of background,” a university spokesman said.
Downing Street, however, last night said Cameron was right to raise the issue because even 27 is a tiny fraction of the 3,200 students who started at Oxford in 2009. (ANI)
