tsaSan Diego, Nov 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Software engineer John Tyner could have never imagined that his trip to South Dakota would end in the airport itself even before it kicked off. The California resident was on his way to a hunting trip in South Dakota at the San Diego International Airport where he was asked by the officials to undergo invasive security checks which he disagreed to. The 31-year-old man refused to undergo the full-body X-ray scan as well as the controversial ‘pat-down’ method which are used as security checks by the officials of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

John Tyner recorded his entire ordeal at the San Diego International Airport in his iPhone and the first hand account of the screening procedures that passengers have to undergo has raised questions about whether the TSA is just going too far with the scanning techniques. The video showing the San Diego resident’s experience at the airport is now available on the web and it has already gained huge popularity on Youtube with 200,000 hits by Monday afternoon. With his iPhone, John Tyner recorded the arguments that he had with the TSA officials over the X-ray scanning as well as the pat-down technique that the security officials proposed.

Following the incident, John Tyner gave an interview to a reputed media source in which he explained his refusal to go under the scanner by saying that he considered the methods of security checks as nothing but government’s invasion of privacy. However, TSA administrator John Pistole has told the media outlet that every person has his own take on the screening methods but added that the agency always takes into account the issues and concerns of the individuals.
