Morristown, New Jersey, Aug 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) TLC’s popular reality show “Cake Boss” has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. Remy Gonzalez, who is best known to co-star in the reality show which centers around Buddy Valastro’s New Jersey based bakery shop, has been arrested with charges of sexual assault against a minor. According to the authorities, Buddy Valastro’s brother-in-law was taken into custody on August 17 with respect to the multiple charges that have been levied against him.
It has been reported that the charges that have been levied against Remigio “Remy” Gonzalez includes aggravated sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, sexual assault as well as endangering the welfare of a child. After being taken into custody, the 31-year-old “Cake Boss” co-star is supposedly being held at New Jersey’s Morris County Jail on a bail worth $300,000 while a hearing in the case has been scheduled for September 7. However, as of now it still remains unclear whether Remy Gonzalez has retained an attorney for himself in the case. As per an affidavit that has been attained by media sources, the “Cake Boss” co-star was detained by the authorities after the investigators came across two witnesses who alleged that Remy Gonzalez has confessed to them that he had assaulted teens multiple times.
While reacting to the arrest of the TLC reality series star, the network released a statement on Wednesday in which it expressed its support for Buddy Valastro and his family at this ‘very difficult and challenging time.’ Moreover, the network also said that it respects the family’s need of privacy at this moment of distress and so would refrain from commenting on the matter any further.
