New Delhi, Dec 15 (IANS) The union cabinet Monday gave its approval to the proposals to amend the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and to set up a national investigating agency, it was announced. “Bills for these purposes will be introduced in parliament,” an official statement said after the cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
An all-party meeting, held this month in the wake of the Nov 26 Mumbai terrorist attacks, had proposed to set up a federal investigating agency.
