New Delhi, March 20 (IANS) In a major relief to the families affected by terrorist violence, the union cabinet Thursday approved a scheme under which every such family will be provided financial assistance of Rs.300,000. “Under the scheme, the assistance will be made available to the families of innocents killed in Naxal (Maoist), militant or terrorist violence, and to the innocent civilians who are permanently disabled in such violence,” Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after the cabinet meeting.
“Financial assistance will be made available through the implementing agency National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH),” he said.
“NFCH is working out detailed guidelines in consultation with the ministry of home affairs,” Das added.
