“It’s about religious freedom,” Bush told reporters here, when asked whether his presence with the religious leader may infuriate China.

“I have consistently told the Chinese that religious freedom is in their nation’s interest,” he added.

Later in the day, Dalai Lama will be awarded in a ceremony here, which will be attended by Bush.

This will be the first time that a reigning US President will be seen in public with the exiled Tibetan leader. (ANI)
