Bus accident kills 26 in Ecuador
February 20th, 2012 - 5:44 am ICT by IANSQuito, Feb 20 (IANS) At least 26 people were killed and 15 others injured Sunday when a bus fell into a 50-metre-deep cliff in the South American nation of Ecuador, Xinhua reported.The accident took place in the northern province of Imbabura, police said.
At least 41 people including the driver were in the bus at the time of the accident, a police spokesman said.
Police said the cause of the accident was being investigated, but it is believed the driver was speeding.
