Bryan Mazon’s restaurant offers lion tacos
January 20th, 2011 - 10:16 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattTucson, Jan 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A restaurant in Tucson has rather unusual items on its menu.
The restaurant, Boca Tacos y Tequila, has already offered its customers turtle, kangaroos, rattlesnakes, elk, alligator and python. The restaurant is now offering another type of meat – the African Lion.
The Food and Drugs Administration and other federal agents have revealed that as long as those meats served up on the menu are not on the endangered species list, there is nothing that they can do to stop the restaurant’s practice.
The restaurant is owned by Bryan Mazon. He revealed that the restaurant will continue to serve anything that they can lay their hands on. The practice of selling unusual bush meat to customers by the restaurant started some six months ago.
The Arizona Daily Star reported that the African Lion tacos will be sold from the 16th day of February. However before a customer can get the meat, the person must make an advance payment to assure that the person will come to get the meat.
Previously, it had cost between $3 and $4 to get some of the meat. The African Lion taco will however cost much higher at $8.75.
