London, Jan 24 (ANI): Former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown asked the Metropolitan Police during his term whether his phone had been hacked, it emerged yesterday.
And he has yet to receive an answer.
The revelation comes after Downing St director of communications Andy Coulson quit amid allegations about phone hacking at the News of the World when he was editor.
According to the Independent, Brown had apparently written at least one letter to the Metropolitan Police over concerns that his mobile phone was being targeted while he was Chancellor of the Exchequer, reports the Daily Mail.
Brown’s office declined to comment on suggestions that the former prime minister had raised the matter with the police.
Coulson has revealed that he kept an explosive diary of his three turbulent years working with David Cameron. (ANI)
