Broken tooth upsets Anne Hathaway’s Lancome plansJune 18th, 2008 - 3:00 pm ICT by IANS
London, June 18 (IANS) Anne Hathaway was distraught when her dreams of becoming the new face of Lancome went bad after she broke her tooth just before the launch of the new fragrance. “The Devil Wears Prada” star was thrilled when she was named the face of the advertising campaign by Magnifique, but her plans were grounded when her addiction to chewing gum caused a broken tooth.
Contactmusic.com quotes her as saying: “I broke a molar while I was in Paris, like, the day before the launch. I thought maybe I would be okay and I went out to dinner and I realised during dinner the nerve was exposed, so I had to go to a dentist.
“I’m in France and I don’t speak French and it was a big disaster. I brought my tooth, in case that was helpful … I realised eventually the dentist wanted to reattach my tooth. And I’m like, `Is that a French thing?’ I mean I’m an actress. what do I know about dentistry?”
