Brits to ring in the New Year by sending half a billion racy messages
December 28th, 2010 - 1:49 pm ICT by ANILondon, Dec 28 (ANI): Brits are planning to do something ’sexy’ this New Year - they will send a record number of sex text messages.
Nearly half a billion racy messages are likely to be sent as they get in the mood by midnight.
Phone companies are expecting their busiest ever New Year as more Brits than ever reach for their mobiles.
Orange expects a record 159 million message on its network alone-a 27 person increase on last year.
Vodafone is also braced for a record-breaking festive season after seeing 27 percent more texts sent on Christmas Day than last year.
“People are increasingly turning to their mobile phones to stay in touch with friends and family during the festive season,” the Daily Star quoted Vodafone UK boss Guy Laurence, as saying.
“The tremendous rise in data usage and texting that Vodafone saw on Christmas Day suggests that New Year will be the busiest ever,” he said.
Millions of Brits are also expected to make it their New Year’s resolution to have more fun in the sack.
Louise Van Der Velde, said: “People increasingly want to spice up their sex lives and have more and more sex. It means more than ever will probably be going for it on New Year’s Eve. A lot of single people are set to go out on the pull and are more likely to have sex than on any other night.” (ANI)
