Briton jailed 30 years after abusing kids

London, March 28 (IANS) A man in Britain has been jailed for 16 years after he escaped justice for three decades as a paedophile.

David Bryant, 65, snatched four little girls in the 1980s and 1990s. He then sexually abused them before dumping them back on the street, the Sun reported.

Bryant, from Ulverston in Britain’s Cumbria county, said he felt “a sense of grievance” having been caught so long after his offences.

The breakthrough came after police arrested one of his brothers on suspicion of an unrelated offence.

Cops then eliminated Bryant’s other male relatives from the enquiry until they were left with only him. His DNA was linked to all four cases and he was charged.

Outside the court, Detective chief inspector Steve Binks said: “For 30 years, Bryant left these victims and their families traumatised by his despicable actions and has shown absolutely no remorse.

Bryant was sentenced Wednesday at Newcastle Crown Court for the kidnap and sex attacks on four victims in Hampshire and Tyneside.

Judge James Goss, the Recorder of Newcastle, said: “All your victims were very young girls aged five or under.

“There was a distinct pattern to your offences.”
