Britney dazzles audiences with comeback tourMarch 4th, 2009 - 10:43 pm ICT by IANS
London, March 4 (IANS) Pop star Britney Spears overwhelmed her audience with a high-octane act at the launch of her eagerly anticipated US tour in New Orleans.
For what insiders described as her last chance to prove her credibility yet again after her breakdown, the singer pulled out all the stops Tuesday night, reports dailymail.co.uk.
The 27-year-old amazed the crowd with a dozen costume changes, elaborate dance routines and magic tricks at the gala, which is the first of her 44-day Circus tour.
Widely deemed a success by fans, critics too couldn’t stop praising the diva.
“She brought the circus to her hometown, and it was a huge, sold-out, screaming success,” said MTV’s James Montgomery.
Added USA Today’s critic Jerry Shriver: “A comeback, certainly, and a solid one at that.”
