David Cameron London, April 27 (IANS) Samantha Cameron, wife of British Prime Minister David Cameron, spent a day in the No.10 Downing Street kitchen baking cup cakes for a street party for underprivileged children.

Samantha is an ambassador of Save the Children, an international NGO working for child rights, the Daily Express reported.

The prime minister’s wife and four children - Alina Kiewell, nine, and her six-year-old brother Fynn, and seven-year-olds Oliver McGregor and Carlo Guerrini-Maraldi - baked fairy cakes and decorated them with royal wedding-themed flags.

The cakes will be enjoyed by party guests and help raise money for Save the Children, the NGO website said in a statement.

“The children were simply brilliant,” said Samantha. “Not only did they take it upon themselves to raise lots of money to help save children’s lives, but they were a great help to me in the Downing Street kitchen this morning, baking cakes for our street party.”

Alina said: “It was lots of fun to meet Samantha Cameron and I really enjoyed baking. Samantha was really good at icing the cakes.”
