Brit youth survives 100ft love tiff fall!February 10th, 2008 - 11:49 am ICT by admin
London, Feb 10 (ANI): Love surely has magical healing powers. An 18-year-old British bloke fell 100ft from a bridge after a row with his lover, and survived unhurt.
The lads plunge was cushioned by mud and shallow water, but he was then swept away by the incoming river tide.
He clung to a mooring buoy for 20 minutes until rescuers pulled him out with mild hypothermia.
The teen was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was released hours later.
Cops were called to the River Torridge at Bideford, Devon after the youth argued with his girlfriend, and threatened to jump from the bridge.
He remained suspended on the edge for 25 minutes but lost his grip and plummeted into the river.
Police commandeered a boat, fearing the tide would sweep him away. However, life boatmen found the lucky lad near where he fell in the river.
He was in drink and they had been having an argument, The Sun quoted a police spokesman, as saying.
Nobody could believe he wasnt seriously injured at least he was very lucky indeed, the spokesman added. (ANI)
