London, Dec 23 (ANI): When it comes to dressing up, women have no problem reaching into their deep pockets.
A new survey has revealed that the fairer sex wear clothes and accessories worth 815.74 pounds on an average.
But men are not lagging behind, for the average bloke’s outfit costs 687.15 pounds.
The survey, conducted by Debenhams, found that women step out in trousers or a skirt worth an average of 34.87 pounds, which includes a top costing 21.97 pounds, a 30.31 pounds jumper, 17.47 pounds of lingerie and socks that cost 3.23 pounds.
They add a 49.47 pounds coat and shoes worth 39.42 pounds.
Jewellery includes 234.21 pounds worth of trinkets and a 65.53 watch pounds.
The average woman carries a handbag and contents worth 324.50 pounds, including a 100.28 pounds mobile phone and 47 pounds of cash, the survey found.
Men wear pants and socks worth 11.62 pounds, trousers costing 34.87 pounds, a 28.06 pounds shirt, a 45.13 pounds jumper, a 68.60 pounds coat and shoes worth 48.66 pounds.
They also have an 86.61 pounds watch, 174.04 pounds of jewellery, a 112.19 pounds mobile phone and a wallet and cash worth 97 pounds.
A spokesman for Debenhams said that the finding was very surprising.
