Brit women spend hair-raising PS27,722 on haircare!January 23rd, 2008 - 5:47 pm ICT by admin
London, Jan 23 (ANI): It looks like Brit women dont really care about the pounds they are splurging on hair care, for a recent survey has revealed that an average British woman spends 27,722 pounds on her hair during her lifetime, the equivalent of putting a child through university.
The survey, by the hair product manufacturer, Tresemme, also found that when it comes to time spent preening, women dedicate one hour and 53 minutes a week to washing, blow-drying and styling their hair a total of just over four days in every year.
The survey revealed that each year, the average woman in Britain would splash out 83.88 pounds on shampoos and conditioners; 59.16 pounds on home styling products and 260 pounds on haircuts.
For 55 per cent of women, a further 166.50 pounds is devoted to colouring each year.
“It’s incredible how much money women spend on their hair, but also unsurprising, as we know that many women aspire to achieve a salon-like finish, The Scotsman quoted a spokeswoman for TreSemme, as saying.
“Hair is such an important aspect of our appearance, and having stylish locks can really make you look and feel good about yourself. Women are becoming much more savvy about looking after their hair too for example, using a heat defence product before blow-drying.
“There is certainly a better range of quality haircare products available for women to choose from on the high street now, compared to a decade ago, she added. (ANI)
