Brit woman caught on camera throwing cat in wheelie bin charged
September 21st, 2010 - 6:25 pm ICT by ANILondon, Sept 21 (ANI): The British woman, who was caught on camera throwing a cat into a wheelie bin, has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty.
Mary Bale, 45, has been accused of causing unnecessary suffering to Lola, a four-year-old tabby, and of not providing her with a suitable environment, after the RSPCA took the case to court, Sky News reported.
Footage showed Bale stroking Lola, and then looking around before picking her up by the scruff of her neck and dropping her in the bin and then walking off.
The cat was trapped for around 15 hours, but suffered no physical injury.
The incident led to the RSPCA carrying out an investigation, and it sent a file on the case for review by its prosecutions department.
The bank worker, from St Michael’s Road in Coventry, will appear before the city’s Magistrates Court on October 19. (ANI)
