London, September 24 (ANI): A plumber has built the world’s longest motorbike measuring 46ft to enter the Guinness Book of Records.

Colin Furze’s 14.03 metres long vehicle beat the previous record of 9.06 metres.

He used two 50cc Honda Sky mopeds, one he owned while the second he purchased from eBay.

The vehicles were extended using pieces of aluminium.

Furze apparently built it at his back garden to mark his 29th birthday.

He mentioned that the bike can travel at speed of up to 30mph.

“You can ride it like a normal motorbike but steering is a bit of a problem as it has just a small turning circle,” the Telegraph quoted Furze as saying.

“It is quite heavy and difficult to handle and it would be hard to ride on the roads as you need about six widths of road to turn,” he added.

In order to enter the record book, Furze had to drive the bike 100 metres which he did on an airfield.

The plumber from Stamford, Lincs, made a video of him riding the bike and uploaded it on You Tube and is ecstatic that it has made to the Guinness world record.

He said: “I thought it would be a cool thing to do and I’m thrilled to be in the Guinness Book of Records.

“I loved BMX bikes when I was a boy and then became interested in motorbikes and I thought it would be fun to break a world record.

“My mum Beryl was quite interested at first in what I was doing but by the time it was finished, she was glad to see the back of it.”Furze is now planning to make even longer motorbike. (ANI)
