Brit MP calls for tea trolleys at airports for weary travellers!January 28th, 2008 - 4:18 pm ICT by admin
London, Jan 28 (ANI): A Tory MP has called for the introduction of traditional tea trolleys at airports in order to make weary travellers feel comfortable.
The idea, suggested to Michael Fabricant, MP for Lichfield, by Mark Price, the managing director of Waitrose, emerged amid the frustration and delays of airport immigration.
I have travelled quite widely and I dont think that any country offers this. It would be a world first, Times Online quoted Fabricant, as telling the Times.
He is sure that travellers would appreciate the service.
It wouldnt do the Government any harm to compensate people for the long waits theyre now experiencing at passport controls, he added.
Price said: I do a lot of foreign travel and I have been progressively disappointed with how poor it feels when you return home. The whole experience is pretty bleak.
I thought wouldnt it be nice if, when you arrived in the UK, you were greeted with a nice cup of tea.
Fabricant and Price said that tea ladies would be selected on the basis of their cheerfulness.
Four other MPs have supported the idea. The Home Office refused to comment.
BAA, the airport operator, said that it would appreciate any suggestions to improve the passenger experience. (ANI)
