London, January 2 (ANI): Relatives of an eccentric doctor were left gasping after inheriting a garage with the worlds most expensive car parked inside.
Dr Harold Carr, 89, left the regular storage to his nephew and niece concealing the 1937 Bugatti Type 57S Atalante - one of the only 17 made in the world.
A classic Aston Martin and a Jaguar E Type were also discovered along with the Bugatti, which is set to be auctioned on February 7, reports the Mirror.
The rare model, which is expected to fetch around 6 million pounds, could create a record of the most expensive car ever sold under the hammer, if brings in the estimated amount.
His nephew, an engineer from Gosforth, Newcastle, who does not wish to be named, said: We just cannot believe it was there. No-one had any idea what kind of cars he had parked in there.
Its amazing really. Its worth so much because he hasnt used it for 50 years. He just left it parked up.
It was one of the original supercars. When it was built it could reach 130mph at a time when other cars could only do 50mph.
James Knight, International Head of Bonhams motoring department, added: It is absolutely one of the last great barn discoveries, and we at Bonhams are honoured to have been selected to handle its sale. (ANI)
