Brit cops 2-day manhunt for traffic cone thief!March 3rd, 2008 - 3:40 pm ICT by admin
London, Mar 3 (ANI): When British bank worker Masum Ahmed swiped two traffic cones as a prank, the last thing he expected was to become the target of a massive man-hunt. But, thats exactly what happened.
Mr Ahmed reveals that three police officers were deployed to find him after he swiped the cones, worth 10 pounds.
Once they found him, the police not only locked him up for four hours, but also slapped an 80 pounds fine on him.
And though the fine was withdrawn hours later, what has Mr Ahmed hopping mad was that cops came in abundance in search of the missing traffic cones but no one had come when he reported that his car had been broken into.
I took two cones as a practical joke as we have problems parking but I didnt think it would go this far. They searched my house and my car, The Sun quoted him, as saying.
Then more officers came and questioned me. I was arrested and held in a cell for four hours.
They took my DNA and I got a caution and PS80 fine. It took three officers two-and-a-half days.
Not long ago I reported my car had been broken into and no-one ever came around about that. (ANI)
