Brit boy, 12, turns into girl after summer holidays
September 18th, 2009 - 12:54 pm ICT by ANILondon, September 18 (ANI): A 12-year-old boy in southern England returned to school as a girl after summer holidays.
The child is preparing for sex-change surgery but when he reached school a special assembly was conducted to announce that his fellow students should address him as a girl.
The child has been provided with a separate toilet and changing room in the sports hall in the school, the Sun reports.
It was hoped his transformation would not be recognized but his former classmates at primary level came to know after which the word spread.
The parents of the pupils studying in the school are angry at the administration for not providing prior information.
A mother of a student said: “They behaved appallingly by throwing this hand grenade into the room and then leaving the inevitable questions about it for unprepared parents.
“Maybe we could have explained sexual politics and encouraged our kids to be more sensitive if we’d had a chance to be involved.”
Another parent of a girl child said: “She told me the pupil is already a target for bullying.
“And what has really upset the parents is that the school didn’t see fit to send us a letter first so we could explain it to our children in our own way.”
The transgender boy’s mother said that all things possible is being done for the welfare of the kid.
She said: “We are committed to ensuring the very best for our child. We are working with other agencies to ensure our child’s welfare is protected.” (ANI)
