BRICS leaders strongly condemn terrorism
April 14th, 2011 - 2:29 pm ICT by ANISanya, Apr 14 (ANI): Stressing that there can be no justification, whatsoever, for any acts of terrorism, leaders of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) today recreated their strong condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
In a joint declaration here, the leaders of the five countries said: “The United Nations has a central role in coordinating the international action against terrorism within the framework of the UN Charter and in accordance with principles and norms of the international law.”
They urged early conclusion of negotiations in the UN General Assembly of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism and its adoption by all Member States. .
The leaders also underlined the need to cooperate in strengthening international information security, and said:” We will pay special attention to combat cybercrime.” (ANI)
