London, Jan 16 (IANS) Hollywood actor Brad Pitt is the frontrunner to play iconic American actor Steve McQueen in a biopic planned by two top movie producers.Michael Cerenzie and Christine Peters recently acquired the rights to the biography “Steve McQueen: Portrait of an American Rebel” by Marshall Terrill and plan to adopt it into a film later this year, reports thesun.co.uk.
“There are a number of actors being linked to the role of Steve McQueen, but Brad is the frontrunner. He not only has the right look and acting talent, but he shares Steve’s love for fast cars and motorcycles,” a source said.
The film will follow the on-screen career of Steve, which started with an unaccredited role in “Somebody Up There Likes Me” and later included hits like “The Magnificent Seven”, “The Great Escape”, “The Sand Pebbles” and “Bullitt”.
