Bomb explosions rock Iraq
October 17th, 2010 - 9:00 pm ICT by IANSBaghdad, Oct 17 (IANS) A series of bomb explosions followed by gunfire rocked this Iraqi capital Sunday, an official said.
At least six bomb explosions went off successively at about 2 p.m. (1100 GMT) in Baghdad’s western neighbourhood of Mansour where sporadic heavy gunfire was heard, Xinhua reported.
An Iraqi interior ministry source confirmed the attacks but could give no details about the casualties.
Violent attacks are still common in Iraqi cities, a setback to the efforts of the Iraqi government to restore normalcy in the country.
