fuishJune 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Chess legend Bobby Fischer’s body will be exhumed by the authorities for a paternity test. The test will determine whether he is the father of a 9 year old Philippine girl. The mother and daughter traveled all the way from Philippines to Iceland to match the blood samples of the young girl named Jinky Young.

The lawyer who has taken up the case of the child says that he has substantial proof in the form of postcards signed ‘daddy’ and also says that Bobby Fischer sent money several times to them. He also said that the exhumation of the body is a delicate process and both a doctor and a priest needs to be present. The battle for the $2 million estate has now intensified with Bobby Fischer’s ex-wife Miyoko Watai, two other nephews from America and the U.S. government that is seeking unpaid tax money, all being in the hunt. The Icelandic law awards one-third of the property to the wife and two thirds of the property to the child. At the moment, it is unclear in whose favor the property will go. The Philippines woman said that she will be just happy to prove that Bobby Fischer is the father of her child.

Bobby Fisher was the youngest world chess champion. He won the US adult championship at the age of 14. He was also a cold war hero when he defeated Russia’s Boris Spassky. He famously compared chess to war and said that the objective is to crush the opponents mind. He passed away in 2008 and left no will.
