Blair felt Brown was ‘mad, bad and dangerous’

London, July 14 (ANI): Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair felt his eventual successor Gordon Brown was “mad, bad, dangerous and beyond hope of redemption”.
Former British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Lord Peter Mandelson, has revealed this in his memoirs, The Sun reports.
Mandelson further states that former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott was even scared of Brown when he was the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
His memoirs, to be released today, tell how Blair broke a 2003 pledge to Brown to stand down as PM before the 2005 General Election.
As the simmering feud between the pair erupted into war, Blair told Mandelson: “He’s like something out of the mafiosi. He’s aggressive, brutal - there’s no one to match Gordon for someone who articulates high principles while practicing the lowest skulduggery.”
One meeting was “the ugliest he ever had”, said Blair. He also said of his Chancellor: “He’s thinking of only one thing. Only of removing me, but I am not going to be pushed out.”
Mandelson reveals he was in a plot dubbed “Operation Teddy Bear” to strip Brown of his powers. (ANI)
