Bin Laden to kill Americans if 9/11 plotter executed
March 25th, 2010 - 9:19 pm ICT by IANSCairo, March 25 (IANS) Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has in a new audio message threatened to kill captured US citizens if the alleged mastermind of 9/11 is executed, media reports said Thursday.
Bin Laden said that if the US decided to execute Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his associates, then Al Qaeda would kill captured Americans, Xinhua reported quoting al-Jazeera TV.
Sheikh Mohammed is accused of masterminding the Sep 11 attacks on New York and Washington that killed nearly 3,000 people. The attacks prompted then US president George W. Bush to declare war on terror that led to the American military intervention in Afghanistan.
Sheikh Mohammed was captured in Pakistan in 2003.
