Bid to smuggle narcotics tablets foiled in Dubai
December 15th, 2011 - 12:21 am ICT by IANSDubai, Dec 14 (IANS/WAM) A bid to smuggle around 14,000 narcotic tablets has been foiled at the Dubai international airport, an official said.
A total number of 13,929 tablets of fenethylline or phenethylline, a synthetic drug used as a stimulant, were on their way to another Gulf country via Dubai.
Omar Ahmad Al Muhairi, senior manager of air cargo operations at Dubai Customs, said the drugs were discovered during x-ray screening and by sniffer dogs.
