Ali Al Mugahwi, director of the Passenger Operations Department at Dubai Customs, said 83 and 86 capsules were detected with two Asian passengers, while the other 50 capsules were found in the stomach of an African woman passenger.
He said nothing suspicious was found during the routine baggage search procedures of the three people.
When they were checked by the body scan machine, it detected strange items inside their stomachs. It was later confirmed they were carrying the capsules.
All three have been handed over to police for further investigation. Their nationalities were not disclosed.
