Bicycle bomb kills 17 in Afghanistan

Kabul, March 31 (IANS) A bicycle bomb went off Wednesday in Afghanistan, killing 17 civilians, police said.Terrorists planted an explosive device on a bicycle and detonated it near a weekly bazaar in Maljir area near Lashkar Gah town in Helmand province killing the 17, Xinhua news agency said.
Kamaludin Shirzai, the acting provincial police chief, was quoted as saying that 15 others were injured. The officer blamed the attack on the Taliban.
