‘Best job in the World’ in its final stage
May 4th, 2009 - 1:24 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, May 4 (ANI): The 16 finalists for Tourism Queensland’s ‘best job in the world,’ including an Indian RJ Anjaan, have arrived in Hamilton Island for the final showdown.
The candidates will have to undergo “rigorous” final assessments and interviews before being selected for Great Barrier Reef’s caretaker’s job, reports the Courier Mail.
They will be tested on a range of personal, communication and other skills.
The successful candidate, to be announced on May 6, will be selected for the 150,000 dollars six-month stint for exploring neighbouring islands, swim, snorkel, discover wildlife, and the locals.
“We are now inviting them on three or four tortuous days where we will make them jump through every hoop we can possibly think of,” News.com.au quoted TQ’s chief executive, Anthony Hayes as saying.
He said that Tourism Queensland has raked in an estimated 110 million dollars in global publicity from the campaign, and could expect another 20-30 million dollars from its final stage. (ANI)
