Berlusconi vows to quit if shown to have “spicy” relationship with teen model
June 6th, 2009 - 3:56 pm ICT by ANILondon, June 6 (ANI): Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has vowed he will quit if it is shown he lied over his relationship with Noemi Letizia, an 18-year-old aspiring model.
Last night, the multi-millionaire premier pledged that he will step down from his post after Spanish newspaper El Pais published photos of topless women and a nude man at his Sardinian home.
Last week, an appeal by Berlusconi’s lawyers resulted in the seizing of the photos and the photographer being placed under investigation for alleged violation of privacy, reports The Mirror.
The photos emerged amid a scandal involving the 72-year-old and Letizia, whose 18th birthday party he attended.
Citing his attendance at the party, Berlusconi’s wife announced she was suing for divorce.
However, last night Berlusconi said there was nothing “spicy” between him and Letizia.
“If someone can demonstrate the Premier perjured himself, the Premier would have to resign,” he added. (ANI)
