Berlusconi ‘eyes Tuscan estate after paparazzi problems in Sardinia’
April 10th, 2010 - 12:16 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr 10 (ANI): Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is planning to buy a 19-million-pound country estate in Tuscany after becoming tired of his current holiday retreat, a villa on Sardinia’s exclusive Costa Smeralda, which has become over-run by photographers.
The sprawling property, which he’s eyeing, is in the chic “Chiantishire” region, reports The Telegraph.
According to reports, Berlusconi inspected the property near Siena with his daughter Marina, 43, and his lawyer, Nicolo Ghedini.
The 1,000-hectare property, which dates back to the 12th century, is near the village of Monteroni d’Arbia and boasts a swimming pool, vineyards, ivy-clad stone barns, medieval fortifications, three lakes and woodland.
The prime minister’s villa in Sardinia came in the limelight after photographers staked it out and snapped pictures of topless showgirls and models sunbathing in the gardens and taking outdoor showers. (ANI)
