At present she is chairing a crucial party meeting at the PPP secretariat here, following the end of her detention.

Party spokesman, Farhatullah Babar said that Benazir Bhutto would lead the march from Lahore to Islamabad, which is being done to compel President Musharraf to give up the post of Army Chief, end the emergency, restore the Constitution and hold elections on time.

According to sources, Bhutto would also be meeting members of the civil society and the diplomats.

She would raise the matter of the reinstatement of the superior court judges during her discussions with the diplomats and would urge upon them to pressurize Pervez Musharraf in this regard.

Earlier, Bhutto was unable to address the planned public meeting at Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh on Friday as the administrations of the twin-cities effectively blocked all the roads leading to the venue.

The government had put Bhutto under house arrest for three days under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO), but later the detention order was withdrawn late Friday night, The News reported. (ANI)
