Beauty queen gets back her Miss San Antonio crown after suing organisers
March 25th, 2011 - 4:42 pm ICT by ANINew York, Mar 25 (ANI): A beauty pageant contender, who sued organisers after she was stripped of her Miss San Antonio title, has regained her crown.
Domonique Ramirez, 17, will be reinstated as Miss San Antonio after a jury ruled in her favour that she was unfairly ejected early from her year-long reign.
The trial, which turned into national news, centred on Ramirez’s claims that she was ousted as Miss San Antonio because organizers thought she was too fat.
“I’m very grateful it turned out this way,” the New York Daily News quoted her as saying outside the courtroom.
Ramirez will be allowed to compete in the Miss Texas pageant and serve out the remaining four months of her title. (ANI)
