Beach sex Brit man slams Dubai for tempting tourists with cheap booze, and jailing them
December 30th, 2008 - 12:46 pm ICT by ANILondon, December 30 (ANI): The beach sex Brit man given a suspended three-month jail sentence for having unmarried intercourse in public has accused Dubai of the city of tempting tourists with cheap booze, and then jailing them for getting drunk.
Telecoms boss Vince Acors, 36, was speaking after his return to the UK.
He said that hotels in Dubai advertised all you can drink champagne brunches, despite knowing that it is illegal to be drunk outdoors.
He once again denied having drunken sex on a Dubai beach with fellow Brit Michelle Palmer, and insisted that they only kissed and cuddled on a sunbed after downing champagne at a brunch.
Intercourse did not take place. We were overly affectionate in a country where that behaviour is illegal, the Sun quoted him as saying.
Speaking about laws, as they operate in Dubai, he said in London: It is a country of excess. Everything is available but it is also illegal. You can drink a load of alcohol for little money but when you go outside youre breaking the law.
He added: The brunches in Dubai are famous. Your glass is never empty. I couldnt say how much champagne I drank that night. The amount we drank impaired our judgment. I was extremely naive on my first trip to Dubai.
Acors, of Bromley, South London, also insisted that despite strict Islamic law, prostitution was widespread in Dubai.
In bars and clubs you see local guys with girls people in relationships with unmarried people. We were in the wrong place at the wrong time, he said.
He revealed that he had no plans to see Michelle again. (ANI)
