Bangladeshi woman politician’s house bombed
November 17th, 2011 - 9:40 pm ICT by IANSDhaka, Nov 17 (IANS) The house of a woman politician in Bangladesh was bombed and her son was shot at by unidentified gunmen Wednesday night, police said Thursday.
Four bombs were hurled at the house of Syeda Jerin Rahman, general secretary of the Mohila Awami League of Jessore district, around 10 p.m., police official Tofael Ahmed was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
When Rahman’s son Basir came out of the house after the explosion, he was shot at by the gang. Basir, however, escaped unhurt.
The house was badly damaged in the blasts but no one was injured, the daily said.
Jessore district is in western Bangladesh along the border with India.
