March 28th, 2008 - 12:55 pm ICT by admin Bangalore, Mar 28 (ANI): The Bangalore airport has resumed its operations after the runway was cleared off, after being blocked for hours following a Kingfisher aircraft hitting a dog on the runway.
The incident led to the collapse of its nose wheel shortly before take-off.
The Kingfisher aircraft, an ATR 72, was taking off for Hyderabad at 9.50 p.m. on Thursday when the incident occurred.
While two passengers were injured in the accident, other 23 passengers and four crewmembers were safe.
A Kingfisher Airlines release quoted the commander as saying that the black dog crossed the runway when the aircraft was on a roll. The pilots could not see the animal because the runway was dimly lit. (ANI)
