BA clarifies internal error led to fake Osama bin Laden boarding pass
June 3rd, 2010 - 3:35 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, June 03 (ANI): British Airways has clarified that an error led to the publication of a fake boarding pass in the name of the world’s most wanted man, Osama bin Laden, in one of its magazines.
The photo of the 9/11 accused was published in LHR News, an internal company magazine covering London’s Heathrow Airport.
British Airways said through its Twitter channel: “A mistake has been made in this internal publication and we are working to find out how this occurred.”
The photo was published alongside an article on a new mobile phone boarding system, which allows smartphone users to print out their boarding passes when they’re away from their desks.
The pic shows an iPhone displaying an image of the phony boarding pass bearing the name of the passenger: ‘Bin Laden/Osama,’ reports the Age.
Also its shows the passenger with a Northwest Airlines frequent-flyer number, a seat in first class and a departure date of October 26, 2010. (ANI)
