Australian PM congratulates US on Osama’s death
May 2nd, 2011 - 4:37 pm ICT by IANSWashington, May 2 (IANS) Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has congratulated the US on the operation that led to Osama bin Laden’s death in Pakistan, CNN reported.
“Our fight against terrorism does not end with bin Laden’s death. We must remain vigilant against the threat posed by Al Qaeda and the groups it has inspired,” Gillard said.
Osama was killed in Pakistan’s Abbotabad city, about 50 km from Islamabad.
“We will continue our support for the counter-terrorism efforts of the US and our partners, and we will continue our efforts in Afghanistan to ensure that the country never again becomes a safe haven for terrorism,” she said.
