Australian man kills wife for waking his dog
May 21st, 2009 - 4:42 pm ICT by IANSSydney, May 21 (DPA) An Australian man strangled his wife for waking up his dog and then went out for a drink at his local pub, a court in Melbourne was told Thursday.
Anthony Sherna, who has pleaded not guilty to murdering Susanne Wild, is also alleged to have left her body until it smelt before burying it in the backyard.
It was Sherna’s habit to rock his beloved Jack Russell terrier to sleep every night.
He told police that Wild had wakened the dog with her shouting and that he had pulled the cord from his dressing gown and strangled her.
Senior Constable Graeme Raynor gave evidence that Sherna was “extremely relieved” in February 2008 when he told police where the body lay.
