Australian diplomat meets Pakistani leaders

Karachi, June 12 (IANS) Australian Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan Paul Molloy met leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Karachi and discussed the deteriorating law and order situation in the southern port city, a media report said.

The Australian diplomat Saturday met Wasay Jalil and Kunwar Khalid Yunus, members of the MQM coordination committee, the Daily Times reported.

He also met MQM deputy leader in the National Assembly Haider Abbas Rizvi and adviser to the Sindh chief minister, Khawaja Izharul Hassan.

The meeting lasted for over an hour and the officials discussed important issues, including the provincial budget, deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi and the growth of various mafias in the city, the report said.
