Aussie-Asian surgeon accused of having oral sex with patient

Dr. Swapan Chowdhury, who worked at the Simply Beautiful clinic in Edgecliff and Spectrum Health at Waverley, has been charged with visiting a patient at home, photographing her in lingerie, and performing oral sex on her.
And owing to the accusations, Chowdhury has been refused registration for at least two years by the NSW Medical Tribunal.A patient told the tribunal that she had visited Chowdhury in 2003 because she had a sore shoulder, but during the consultation she told him that she felt guilty about sex due to her “Catholic upbringing” and was uncomfortable with intimacy.
And about four days later Chowdhury visited her flat, bringing grapes, sushi, champagne and a booklet on female sexual energy.
He played a video of tantric masturbation, took her pants down and asked her to touch herself, reports the Age.
After a week, he returned with a camera and asked her to put on her “best lingerie”, before they went to the bedroom where she posed for photos.
She said that Chowdhury gave her a tablet to “clear the energy” in her body, took one himself, and then performed oral sex on her.
He even reassured her that what had occurred between them was not shameful and would empower her.
The woman continued seeing him about 40 times over three years before she finally reported the sexual encounters with the tribunal.
However, Chowdhury denied ever having sex with the woman or visiting her flat.
While the tribunal was not satisfied with the evidence to support the patient’s allegations, but ruled that Chowdhury had failed to comply with conditions imposed on his registration after another patient complained. (ANI)
