Ontario (Canada), June 27 (IANS) Arjun Atwal closed in a disastrous fashion dropping four shots in four holes, between 14 th and 17th, to fade away with a score of 73 and end the first day in tied 119th place at the Nationwide Tour’s Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic. With the tournament being played on two courses, Australia’s Aron Price leads the field at seven under 65 at the par-72 Raven Country Club, while Greg Chalmers shot six-under 65 the best on the par-71 Georgian Bay Club.
Atwal playing at the Raven Club had five birdies, four bogeys and one double bogey. He opened with a bogey on third, but then swiftly moved under par with birdies on fourth, sixth and eighth holes. He dropped a shot again on ninth to turn in two under.
Birdies on 10th and 13th took him further up on the leaderboard but dropped shots on 14th and 17th. He also had a double bogey on the 16th.
